CSCA focuses on providing professional development for educators in four major areas that define school climate and engaged learning:
● Classroom Management
● De-Escalation and Coping Skill Development
● Effective Communication
● New Teacher Development
Each of these areas contributes to teachers’ ability to individually and collectively engage students and maintain a focused and calm learning environment. Climate affects a school culture’s long-term development, but equally important, it controls the atmosphere in every classroom and every minute of instruction on a daily basis. These focal areas and corresponding trainings are designed to help administrators, teachers, and school staff boost their school climate purposefully and consistently as they work to help every student learn. After a quality instruction process (planning, delivery, assessment, etc.), nothing supports learning more than a calm and engaging learning environment. Effective relationships and communication across all stakeholders would follow. CSCE focuses on these crucial areas which boost learning and reinforce the countless hours of academic preparation that educators put in every day.
"I enjoyed the interactive-ness of the session. So many trainings we go to, we just sit and listen. Talking with a partner about the questions during the True/False was great!!!"
Region 4 Workshop Participant
Educators sometimes don’t like to talk about discipline. Teachers may think the impact of behavioral problems is downplayed, whereas admin may think that behaviors are exaggerated and not handled effectively, and parents can think that discipline is a personal attack on their child. State officials may feel that managing severe behavior is just a part of the educator’s job. Discipline is inarguably a vital part of the learning environment, but views on managing behavior can be vastly different and cause immense controversy in a school. In this thought-provoking presentation, attendees will delve into the complex and stark realities of managing student behavior and methods of building resilient educational environments in 2026.

The single most important skill in public education today may just be de-escalation. While de-escalating students is important for learning, de-escalating adults and guiding contentious conversations is also a pivotal aspect of school climate. Whether it’s an angry parent in the office, an upset community member at an event, or a parent/teacher conference that is spiraling toward disaster, educators must have a proven skillset in de-escalating these types of interactions. This training gives educators valuable tools to assess volatile situations and bring a sense of calm to angry stakeholders.

Communication issues come in all shapes and sizes. Addressing these issues can be the pathway to clearer understanding and active collaboration across the entire school. Whether dealing with students, staff, or parents, administrators must focus on effective communication techniques in every aspect of leading a school. Clarity can be the ultimate X factor that inspires and reassures staff during the most troublesome times. This comprehensive training takes new administrators on a journey through key communication strategies that can be the decisive edge toward overall success. Participants will learn how to craft, deliver, and support powerful messaging while examining both their self-awareness and communicative limitations.
